Our Mission

Doggie Depot was created in July of 2006 with a simple goal: Provide a fun and safe environment where dogs can play while you’re away. Colleen and Brian McLachlan have been involved in the doggie daycare industry for years, first as customers, then industry observers, employees and owners. As life-long lovers of Golden Retrievers, it just made sense for us to love your dogs as well.

About Us

Colleen and Brian’s love for dogs began at a very young age. Both had dogs in the house at birth and they developed a love for Golden Retrievers and dogs in general throughout their childhoods. When they met at the University of Illinois in 1999, talk about their beloved Goldens at home in the Chicago suburbs was a common topic.

After moving to Southern California after college, they decided their careers as an Industrial Engineer and Project Manager were not going to be lifelong commitments soon after getting married in 2004. When they got their first Golden, Sadie, she proved to be a handful while they worked long hours. Doggie Daycare was a must for her, and over the course of the next two years they positioned themselves to quit their jobs and open Doggie Depot.

The couple currently share their home with two Golden Retrievers: Ford and Trip. They are also the proud parents of two boys, Parker and Rory. They live right down the street from the Depot and are thrilled to be a part of the Downers Grove Community.
